A real bastard?

Trump, Trump and again Trump… The world holds its breath as Donald Trump enters the oval office; and it now waits to see.

President Trump, put an end to the shameful acts of Obama who gave weapons to the Kurdish terrorists of the PKK in Syria!, is what Bilari Yildirim, the Turkish Prime Minister, cried out to Trump.

We are not going to get angry while Barack Obama has only few more days left; we shall settle this with his successor”, came the answer from the Kremlin, after the already former democratic president had expelled around thirty Russian diplomats accused by his late administration to have stirred up the election of the new tenant of the White House …

In Tel Aviv, the Israeli right is fidgeting impatiently: will Trump keep his promise of transferring the United States embassy to Jerusalem, thereby de facto recognizing the three times holy city as the “historic capital of the Hebrew people”? This city founded in the 10th century before Christ by king David, “at a time when the Arabs and Islam did not yet exist”, would have been added, to put a little extraoil onto the fire, in the evangelic circles, which unconditionally supported the republican candidate.

What a beautiful revenge Benjamin Netanyahu would hold there, in answer to Obama’s “treason”, who, before leaving his post, allowed resolution 2334 to pass, by refusing to use the United States veto on the UN Security Council. It is because the resolution imposes the borders of a (future) Palestinian State and reminds that the West Bank and the East of Jerusalem (the old town, the Wailing Wall and the Temple mount) are “illegally occupied Palestinian territories”; a real “declaration of war against Israel”, as it could be read in the Zionist press. But the shock wave of this trumpian swaggering could be abyssal; nobody knows (at the moment) what the price of it will be.

And, in the Pentagon, work has already begun on “a new plan of battle against Daesh, much more aggressive than until now”…

Actually, it is possible that Trump really is a bastard and not only a populist…

Prohibiting the access to US territory for Iranians, while relations with Iran had returned (more or less) to a calm state, and for Iraqis, while their country is almost under American control since 2003…

Hmmm…

The election pleased those who were tired of the arrogance of the liberal establishment embodied by Hillary Clinton; it was “so nice”.

But, hey… The guy was actually serious when he was messing around during the campaign?

Latest trumpian act to date: the unilateral decision to support the Saudi policy in Syria and in Yemen by creating “security zones for refugees”.

For what kind of “refugees” exactly?

Mainly, it is a decision that is directly aimed at Tehran, as of now officially and publically accused by the White House of “destabilising activities” in the Middle East.

In Yemen, Iran supports the Houthis, who occupy Sanaa, and leads a successful proxy war against King Salman’s Saudi Arabia – with whom Donald Trump has very personally agreed with over an hour-long phone call. In Syria, the Hezbollah’s militias are pretty successful everywhere, thereby spoiling Riyadh’s joy, and have contributed to the “liberation” of Aleppo, as well as being highly active in Iraq against the Islamic State – an objective ally of Saudi Arabia. Syria’s government greatly protested at the sound of Trump’s intentions that would constitute a brutal intrusion into its sovereignty…

For the moment, the Kremlin – the other big partner of Bashar al-Assad, remains almost muted, probably surprised by the geopolitical incoherence of the one they apparently helped to be elected.

The cowboys are back, people!!!

And, I do not know why… But something could change in the Middle East…

The Middle East? Well… Let’s talk about it…

It is our topic now at the beginning of 2017: by walking through the already cold dust of the Arab “revolutions”, some people wonder if they were dreaming… So surrealist is the awakening: Bashar in Syria, Al-Sissi in Egypt, Saleh in Yemen…

Nothing has changed; or it did… Everything changed for the worse. But the world does not seem to be concerned; nor amazed, nor moved…

Meanwhile in Venice, a “migrant” drowned in the Grand Canal, under the laughter of the passers-by; the curious onlookers were having fun watching this unfortunate man struggling in the water, hurryingly making a “selfie” to post on Facebook, whereas others insulted him…

Dear God! “The blood dries fast as it enters the books of history”…
